Day 1
I've been using self-help resources in a wishy-washy way for years. I can't let self-help go, yet I can't fully commit to it either. So, I've decided this craziness has to stop, and that I would commit to living my life using self-help for one year to prove to myself that it works if I work it! I hope my process will help others too.
I am going to use a variety of audio, video and written resources. Some will be spiritually based practices, and many will be practical. One thing I have learned is that I need to use my mind as well as take practical action to get the best results.
Years ago, I had amazing results from using these sort of resources, and then, I stopped. Why did I stop? I had a self-esteem shattering experience that pretty much put the brakes on my life in every way. Now, I feel ready to fully embrace who I am, and to see how much good I can create in my life.

The areas I want to improve are:
Finances - (don't we all). I'm by no means destitute, but I would like a lot more freedom, especially to travel. I like Spain in the summer!
Career - my work is boring. I need to have fun since I'm at the office for so many hours a day.
Body - I'm in okay shape at the moment. I want to have better muscle tone, and feel fitter. I have been having a social cigarette here and there, as well as a glass of wine or two. I'm not going to abstain from wine completely, but I'll ditch the cigs for sure.
My house - its pretty cluttered right now and I need a new kitchen.
Today I wrote out my goals as so many self-help books suggest. I've done that a lot in the past and not followed through. I will see these goals through for the next twelve months and follow directions from one book in particular to the letter. The author promises massive changes if I do what he suggests, so let's see how great I can make my life!
You're now in a fairly fortunate position of being able to pass on not only the theory of what's involved but also the all important first hand advice and experience in order to Change My Life and to any individual.
